As is a primary a soundtrack project, we felt it would be appropriate to include the stories, images and thoughts behind the various themes which embrace this album. They represent histories, mythologies, impressions, hopes and our individual interpretations of them.

Walk with me through the red stars
The end, end of the journey
Star, red star

The Red giant Star, Aldebaran, found in the constellation of Taurus, is the Eye of the bull. From the Arabic, Al Dabaran, it means 'the follower' as it "follows" the Pleiades. This piece portrays future Celts passing Aldebaran on their journey to new territories, continuing the migratory pattern whichwas so predominant in their early history.

Гигантская красная звезда, Альдебаран, находится в созвездии Тельца, он - глаз быка. В переводе с арабского "Al Dabaran" значит "последователь", т.к. он следует за Плеядами. Эта композиция показывает будущее прохождение Альдебарана кельтами на их пути к новым землям, которые следуют тому же пути переселения, преобладавшем на раннем этапе их развития.

The beginning of the New Year

It's the dead tree
The end of the rainbow.

    Samhna is a version of Samhan which is the name given to the first day of November. This day was a very large feast in pagan, especial Celtic, tradition. Indeed, the Irish word for November is Samhain. It was one of the most important festivals of the year. Oiche Samhna is the Irish name for Halloween.

    Samhain, величайший кельтский фестиваль, отмечал начало их Нового Года - 31 октября - и сейчас известен как Хеллоуин (Halloween).

The Sun in the Stream (Instrumental)

Background story:

    Ispired by the legend of the Salmon of Knowledge: In the Grove of the nine wise Hazel trees, from a sacred pool, the River Boyne flowed. The salmon feasted on the rich crimson nuts, fallen from the hazel trees, and hence possessed all the truth in the world.

    Написано под впечатлением легенды о Мудром Лососе: В роще девяти мудрых ореховых деревьев, из священного пруда текла река Бойн. Лосось лакомился спелыми орехами, падавшими с деревьев, и, таким образом, познавал все истины мира.

Fairytale

Background story:

    Based on story of the Fairy King Midir and his love for the beautiful princess Etain. It is a story of great love, jealousy, secrets and endurance, in which Etain is banished and transformed into a pool of water, from which she emerges as a butterfly. Although immortal she is born a mortal child, one thousand and twelve years after her first birth.

    Основана на истории о сказочном короле Мидире и его любви к прекрасной принцессе Итэйн. Эта история о великой любви, ревности, тайнах и стойкости, об изгнании Итэйн и превращении её в озеро, из которого она появляется как бабочка. Несмотря на то, что она бессмертна, она рождается обычным ребёнком через 1012 лет после своего первого рождения.

Epona (Instrumental)

Background story:

         Epona was revered as the Horse Goddess and is portrayed with birds as well as horses, with a bag or cornucopia. She is closely identified with Rhiannon. Her birds are reputed to lull the living to sleep and to awaken the dead.

    Epona была почитаема как богиня лошадей и изображалась с птицами и лошадьми, а также с сумкой или рогом изобилия. Считается, что её птицы усыпляли живых и пробуждали мёртвых.

Triad: St. Patrick, Cu Chulainn, Oisin

Lyrics Traditional (Translation):

    St. Patrick. The son of a Roman official, Patrick was captured by a raiding party of Celts when a boy, and spent six years in captivity. He escaped, became a priest and returned to Ireland. According to legend it is St. Patrick who is responsible for Ireland's conversion to Christianity and the final loss of the old Celtic beliefs.
    Cu Chulainn means the "hound of Cullan". As a child his name was "setanta" meaning 'the little'. He became Chulainn when he killed the watchdog of the smith Cullan, and so undertook to guard the smiths house in place of the dog. Cu Chulainn is one of the great Irish heroes. The most famous deeds of this hero are found in the saga Tain Bo Cualgne (the cattle raid of Cooley).
    Oisin which means "little fawn", left his home to journey to Tir na n Og, the Land of Youth, with Niamh Cinn Oir, "Niamh of the Head of Gold". Timelessness - he stayed 300 years, though never aged. On his return to Ireland he found his contemporaries long dead, and Ireland now had St. Patrick and Christianity. Putting his foot upon the earth, he lost Tir na n Og, and so aged and died.

По легенде, именно Патрик ответственен за то, что Ирландия превратилась в христианскую страну и были изжиты старые кельтские верования.
    Cu Chulainn обозначает "пeс Куллана". Когда он был ребёнком, его звали "setanta", что означает "малыш". Он стал Cu Chulainn когда он убил сторожевого пса кузнеца Chulainn-а и таким образом стал сам охранять дом кузнеца вместо собаки. Cu Chulainn - один из великих ирландских героев. Boadicea

Background story:

    Boadicea, или Boudicca, что значит Победоносная, была королевой народа Iceni из Восточной Англии. В 60 г. н.э. она возглавила восстание против римлян, которые разрушали города Colchester, St. Albans и осаждали Лондон. В последствии она была разбита римлянами, и, чтобы не быть подвергнутой унижениям, отравила себя.

Bard Dance (Instrumental)

Background story:

    The Bard, in ancient Celtic times was a man of great importance. His foremost function was in the praise of his king. He also entrained the assembly, sometimes in eulogy, sometime in satire. Together with the Druid, Warrior and Silversmith, he represents the image of the ancient Celt.

    В древние кельтские времена бард был важным человеком. Его основной функцией было восхваление короля. Он также развлекал собрание старейшин, когда расхваливая, а когда и высмеивая их. Вместе с друидом, воином и серебряных дел мастером он представлял собой образ древних кельтов.

Beneath the waters... the village Capel Celyn. This village in Wales was submerged, against much protest and struggle by its inhabitants, in order to accomodate a resevoir. This is a lament for the loss of Capel Celyn, memories now held beneath the water.

Под водой... деревня Capel Celyn. Несмотря на протесты жителей, эта уэльсская деревня была затоплена при устройстве водохранилища. Эта элегия для потерянной Capel Celyn, память о которой теперь осталaсь под водой.
